Context

LMA manufactures mechanical components for the aerospace sector, working on complex metal parts used in aeronautical and space applications.
The company operates within a highly critical supply chain, where precision, reliability, and production quality are essential requirements. Every component must meet strict technical standards and contribute to the performance of the systems it becomes part of.

Challenge

Production was
moving forward.
Process visibility was not.

LMA needed to move beyond partial production visibility. The existing system could track some phases, but it did not yet provide a complete view of the times and events that make up the real production process: setup, machine work, operator activities, stops, idle time, errors, and causes of downtime. In aerospace production, this level of granularity is decisive.

Know that an order has been processed it's just the baseline. You need to reconstruct how it was processed, on which asset, by which operator, and under which operating conditions.

Quindi’s objective was clear: turn scattered factory signals into a continuous view of production, connecting assets, operators, work orders, and critical events in a system capable of showing what is happening while it happens.

Quindi Approach

How we turned tracking into control.

To build a more reliable reading of LMA’s production process, Quindi connected production assets, integrated ERP orders, and automated operational tracking through RFID technology.
By combining these sources, Quindi reconstructs lead time, working time, estimated setup, machine stops, idle time, errors, and causes of downtime. Production is no longer just recorded. It becomes readable, in real time.
Connecting
the assets

Quindi integrated both new machines and legacy equipment, collecting data directly from the shop floor: machine states, errors, productivity, and available parameters for each asset.

Connecting
the orders

Production orders are imported from the ERP and turned into work orders: traceable operational phases. This makes it possible to associate every production activity with a specific order, asset, and moment in the process.

Reducing
manual input

Using RFID tags applied to paper orders and operator badges, Quindi automatically detects the start and end of phases at work centers. Operators do not need to manually enter every step: the system captures data while the work happens.

Making production events readable

By combining machine data, ERP, and RFID, Quindi reconstructs lead time, working time, estimated setup, stops, idle time, errors, and causes of downtime. Production becomes readable phase by phase.
